MSF Motorcycle Safety Course Information

To obtain your motorcycle license in Texas you are required to take and pass the Basic Rider Course.  The courses offered in Austin, TX are exceptional and everyone that has taken one has a great time!  We also recommend taking the Basic MSF course as a refesher if you've been off the bike for long periods of time.  The instructors are keen to break you of bad habits.

The official description of the basic rider course directly from the MSF-USA.org website:
The MSF Basic eCourse is a highly interactive 3-hr. online program that provides riders of all skill levels with the basics of motorcycling. With integrated graphics, photos and video to illustrate the lessons, the $19.99 program allows you to control the pace of your learning. Please note that the Basic eCourse alone is NOT accepted as a license waiver by any state's department of motor vehicles, or as a license to ride a motorcycle or as a learner's permit.
The MSF Basic eCourse serves as an introductory check for anyone interested in riding a motorcycle. It helps you determine whether motorcycling is right for you. Although it's a key component of the MSF's hands-on Basic RiderCourse (updated), it can be completed as an introductory stand-alone program without enrolling in the hands-on course. Plus, it is a great supplement for those who intend to take a non-MSF hands-on course.
Like all MSF training programs, the Basic eCourse promotes lifelong learning. Once you create an account you can retake the course whenever you want a refresher. The course includes selectable Spanish text and audio.
The MSF Basic eCourse includes 12 of the 16 sections that follow the content in the BRC Rider Handbook:
